TITRE A METTRE ICI
In India, where she is now based, she has photographed the Kumbh Mela, the gathering of the Saddhus, holy men in India.
Adrenalin. She likes to work like that, under pressure…
Being the Los Angeles Times photographer for a number of years to cover Cannes Film Festival, Stephanie Cornfield got to know that.
In addition to her continuous collaboration with the Los Angeles Times, Stephanie’s photographs have also appeared in international publications such as The Guardian, The Bund, Premiere USA, Le Monde, Le Soir, Le Nouvel Observateur, L’Express, Elle Studio Magazine, Les Cahiers du Cinéma, Télérama, Paris Match, El Pais, Vima magazine, Der Tagesspiegel.
She exhibited her work in Bali, Dubai; her major exhibitions were in Sion (Switzerland) for her show « Nomadic Mirrors » supported by the Fellini Fondation Sion and in Bombay « Vagabond Souls » supported by Percept Art. Stephanie exhibited in a group show « The Female Side of the Moon » in Berlin at the Galerie Z22 and then had a solo show « Beyond the Imaginary Line » in the Galerie Z22 in Berlin.
Stephanie had private sittings with Jack Nicholson, Kirk Douglas, David Lynch, Matt Damon, Sydney Poitier, Shia LaBeouf and many others, gaining entrance to the Hollywood stars’ homes. She had a particular encounter with Iggy Pop after photographing him backstage—a vibrant memory of her rock photographer’s days.
She has taken a place in Mumbai to break into the other showbiz ‘wood’: Bollywood.
“I really like the challenge. I’m out of my comfort zone, making new contacts in a place that’s culturally very different to what I’m used to.”

Photo Editor at the Los Angeles Times
If ever there was a photographer who knows the ins and outs of entertainment coverage, it’s Stephanie Cornfield.
For the past decade, Stephanie Cornfield has represented the Los Angeles Times as our European freelancer, covering entertainment at the Cannes Film Festival. She consistently overcomes the barriers faced by all photographers working at this elite event.
Armed with only a contact cell number, she begins tackling the logistical and negotiation challenges: calling handlers, requesting additional time for meaningful photo sessions, and contacting hotel concierges for ideal shooting locations.
After deftly selling her visual objectives to both handler and celebrity, Cornfield pushes the creative limits of portrait photography. She masters light, composition, and timing — combining all three to capture the magic of her subjects.
It’s a delicate dance, and Cornfield takes photographic command with the confidence of a tango ballerina.
Stephanie Cornfield brings a wealth of talent and energy to her assignments. She sees light, charms her subjects, and captures images that reveal genuine personality. Her portfolio demonstrates a rare ability to think fast and portray unique characters within narrow windows of opportunity.
Highly recommended.
